Alun graduated with an honours degree in Law and Accountancy from University College Cardiff in 1977. Having worked for a small broker for three years, he joined Capel-Cure Myers providing investment and financial advice to UK resident and non-resident clients, becoming a Director in 1986. This involved frequent travel to visit clients in Europe , Middle East , Far East and South Africa. In 1990 he joined W I Carr Investments, which in time became Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite ( now Rensburg Sheppards ), where he was appointed an Executive Director in 1998 with responsibility for business development. Alun joined Cheviot in September 2009. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Securities Institute and has regularly lectured and written articles in the press about private client investment and financial planning.
